IMSAR’s Dismount Moving Target Indicator (DMTI) capability delivers the ability to locate and monitor people on foot—across varied terrain, in any light or weather. Whether for military surveillance, border monitoring, or security operations, DMTI provides precise, real-time intelligence on dismount activity.
What Is DMTI?
DMTI applies advanced radar Doppler processing to detect slow-moving targets such as individuals on foot, even in cluttered environments. By filtering out static backgrounds, DMTI can identify, classify, and track dismounted personnel over large areas with accuracy.
DMTI Key Features
- Slow-mover detection – Optimized algorithms to identify human movement patterns
- High-precision geolocation – Pinpoint exact position and heading of tracked individuals
- All-weather, day/night capability – Operates when EO/IR sensors are ineffective
- Wide-area coverage – Monitor large zones while maintaining fine detection sensitivity
- Low-SWaP integration – Suitable for UAVs, helicopters, and manned aircraft
Why IMSAR DMTI?
IMSAR’s DMTI capability is part of our multi-mode radar suite, enabling operators to seamlessly switch between DMTI, SAR imaging, GMTI, and Coherent Change Detection (CCD) modes. Lisa 3D displays DMTI detections and tracks with clear, color-coded symbols:
This integration gives teams the ability to spot, track, and respond to dismount activity faster than ever.
Yellow dots – Dismounts moving away
Magenta dots – Dismounts moving toward
Arrows – Show direction of travel
Typical DMTI Applications
- Military ISR – Monitor patrols, enemy movement, and foot traffic in operational zones
- Border security – Detect and track crossings in remote areas
- Search & rescue – Find survivors and responders in disaster zones
- Law enforcement – Track suspects on foot
- Anti-poaching operations – Identify and track illegal activity in protected areas
